MB Leader Prosecutes Ministry of Interior after Preventing Him from Traveling

Professor at Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and member of the Muslim Brotherhood Executive Bureau Dr. Mohamed Badee filed a lawsuit against the Ministry of Interior to recognize reasons for preventing him from traveling to perform Umrah in KSA for the second time, accompanied by his family during the past three months.

The State Security Investigations (SSI) at Cairo airport prevented Dr. Badea and his family from traveling to perform Umrah, for the second time last Wednesday, despite the State Security Investigations’ approvals at Bani Sweif and Cairo, after banning him for the first time last July.

Dr. Badea condemned the situation and confirmed that this action harms Egypt’s reputation. “Egyptian authorities prevent scientists from traveling to perform religious rites, at the same time they allow dancers to travel and be greeted in the VIP longue,” Badee said.

The concerned authorities refused to inform Badee whether his name is within the travel ban list or not and the SSI led him to an embarrassing situation with the Saudi Airlines in his attempt to get back the tickets’ price, because of their high cost and the repetition of this situation, he said.
