The late Engineer was known widely for his genius participation in the High Dam and subway “metro” projects. Sabri who died at 92 won many Egyptian and International awards namely for his efforts and outstanding achievements for his foresight with projects such as the “Ahmed Helmy tunnel”, “Salam Canal” and “Toshka Valley” which were in fact designed nearly 30 years before their construction.

Sabri also expressed logic and scientific observations, which were beyond his years where his brilliant academic status was much admired. He received his PhD before turning 30 an accomplishment in itself with his thesis. His famous engineering and understanding was demonstrated during the 1973 war against Israel with his instructions on dealing with the land and its sand and soil and how to overcome its obstacles, which contributed to Egypt’s famous victory against the Israelis.

Dr Sabry was a spirited Engineer who offered much to Egypt’s engineering and architectural projects. He will be missed dearly.
