Health situation of MB detainees deteriorate
Official medical reports of the Prison Department warned of the deteriorating health situation of Maher el-Shami, a Brotherhood detainee from Kafr El-Sheikh. The medical reports confirmed that he suffers from various ailments revealing that he must undergo a surgery which details the removal of his spleen.
MB Makram Okba, El-Shami’s lawyer, asserted that authorities ignored the situation and did not take any positive action to offer the necessary health care needed
Maher el-Shami, a 50 year old merchant was arrested two months ago for the second time this year with 3 others members from the Brotherhood including Mohammad Shahin, Khaled Abdel Karim and Islam Qarqoura.
Despite the prosecution’s ordered release, the Ministry of Interior challenged its decision and ordered a re-arrest warrant.
