Palestinian killed, three others wounded during Israeli attacks on Bureij camp

One Palestinian resistance fighter was killed and three others sustained different injuries during Israeli aerial and artillery attacks at dawn Tuesday on the Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza Strip.

Dr. Muawiya Hassanein, the director of ambulance and emergency unit in the health ministry, told the Palestinian information center (PIC) that the ambulances managed to evacuate one resistance fighter called Marwan Al-Jarba and three others sustained medium to critical injuries from the bombed area.

Dr. Hassanein said that there is information about other casualties in the area, adding that the medical crews were targeted by Israeli gunfire during evacuations.

Earlier, Palestinian eyewitnesses told the PIC reporter that fierce clashes broke out between a group of resistance fighters and the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) east of the Bureij refugee camp during which Israeli military reinforcements of warplanes and tanks were sent to the area.

Al-Quds Brigades, the armed wing of Islamic Jihad, claimed responsibility for engaging in violent armed clashes with IOF troops as they were infiltrating into citizens’ lands east of the refugee camp.

This attempt to infiltrate into central Gaza was preceded by a failed attempt on Monday evening when another group of IOF troops tried to creep into Khan Younis city, south of Gaza, but they were repelled by Palestinian resistance fighters.

Eyewitnesses told the PIC reporter yesterday that Israeli troops advanced dozens of meters into Qarara area, east of Khan Younis, but resistance fighters managed to fend them off.

They said that the resistance fighters fired mortars shells at the infiltrating troops before Israeli reinforcements, sent to the area, started to carry out a random wave of bombings on agricultural lands and homes in the area without any reported injuries.

In separate incidents, the IOF troops on Monday evening kidnapped three Palestinian citizens in Al-Salam suburb of Shuafat refugee camp, northeast of occupied Jerusalem.

The PIC reporter was told that a large number of IOF troops invaded the camp and fired gunshots to scare the citizens before rounding up three young men during raids on homes.

The IOF troops also kidnapped five other Palestinians during violent raids on homes in Al-Khalil city, south of the West Bank, three of them were from Beit Ommar.

The IOF troops on the morning of Monday detained ex-detainee in Israeli jails Isra Al-Amarna from Bethlehem at the crossing of Karama for two hours upon her return from a pilgrimage trip in Saudi Arabia.

Amarna told Wa’ed society for detainees and ex-detainees that she was searched and interrogated until one o’clock in the morning.

She added that immediately after she was released, some elements of Mahmoud Abbas’s security apparatuses rounded her up as she was trying to catch up a bus and questioned her in the same way Israeli officers did.

In Gaza, the IOF troops on the same day opened fire at dozens of Gazans and multinational activists during their participation in a peaceful march against the Israeli security fence located near the borders of Abasan town, east of Khan Younis.

The protesters started their march from the Khan Younis castle and toured the main street of Abasan town before they came close to the security border fence. No injuries were reported.

In a new development, the Israeli occupation authority (IOA) intend to demolish during the coming days 13 Palestinian homes at the pretext of unlicensed construction in the Lod city in the 1948 occupied lands, most of them are located in Dahmash neighborhood.
