Erdogan: Aggression against Jerusalem hinders peace process

Erdogan asserted that the 2 million Muslims there boasted much solidarity and union. He added that the Islamic world would resist any attacks and it would not end well for the Israelis. Erdogan slammed the Israelis aggression against the Palestinians and the holy structure of Jerusalem by opening new settlement units claiming that the provocative practices hindered the peace process.  He maintained that Jerusalem was a joint legacy belonging to all Muslims, Christians and Jews alike, underscoring that, “If Jerusalem burns, the Middle East burns. If Jerusalem burns, the world burns, the ugly plans against Jerusalem will face a reaction not just from Muslims but also Christians and sympathetic Jews”.

The Turkish premier ascertained that all parties involved in the Israeli- Palestinian negotiations should concentrate on establishing a Palestinian state within the 1967 borders. Turkey will always support the peace process initiatives and offer any help possible to the oppressed Palestinians.
