Amid worldwide silence, Tunisia’s capital, witnessed the killings of 4 citizens by army and police despite a dusk-to-dawn curfew. The army has deployed armoured vehicles in the capital.
 
Human rights and trade union activists believe the number of dead to be at least 50 since the nationwide unrest began as a result of the rising food and fuel prices, high unemployment and corruption although official reports believe the death tollm to be 23 people.
