FJP Leaders Slam Arrest of Activists During Mubarak’s Trial

Legal Advisor for the Freedom and Justice Party and lawyer for the revolution’s victims Dr. Ahmed Abu Baraka slammed the continued detention of Activists who were arrested Monday while they were defending the families of the revolution’s victims from attacks by Mubarak supporters outside the Police Academy where the ousted Mubarak and top officials were being tried.

According to Dr. Mohamed Beltagy, Freedom and Justice Party leader the attacks by the pro-Mubaraks were not random and were premeditated. “It is evident that the attacks were carried out by a group hoping to thwart the objectives of the revolution and its achievements”, he said.

Beltagy added that the success of the revolution appears an obstacle for few wealthy businessmen some of which are currently in detention. "As Mubarak’s trial develops, so do the efforts to create hindrances and obstacles in an effort to affect the outcome."
