FJP Meets with Belgian Ambassador

FJP Meets with Belgian Ambassador

Dr. Saad Katatni, Secretary General of the Freedom and Justice Party (FJP), met with the Belgian Ambassador Bruno Néve de Mevergnies in Cairo on Wednesday evening.

According to de Mevergnies, his visit was an effort to understand the party’s vision concerning Egypt’s future, especially during the transitional phase through which Egypt is going.

“It is important”, he said “that all political factions in Egypt cooperate in the country’s political landscape and work as one towards achieving a better future for Egypt”.

Meanwhile, Katatni spoke of the importance of developing bilateral relations between Egypt and Belgium in the near future.

He also discussed the situation in Egypt concerning the upcoming parliamentary elections. “It is virtually impossible that any one political faction assume full responsibility for Egypt’s future. The FJP is not looking for a majority in parliament or dominance of power. Neither the FJP nor any other party has the capacity to carry the burden of rebuilding Egypt alone. That is why the Democratic Alliance, made up of approximately 40 political parties, was formed”, he explained.
