Following Meeting With American NGO, MB Welcomes Dialogue Based on Non-Interference in Egypt Affairs

In a statement to IkhwanWeb, Dr. Mahmoud Ghozlan, media spokesman of the Muslim Brotherhood (MB), said that the group undoubtedly welcomes free dialogue with anyone, so long as that is based on mutual respect and non-interference in the internal affairs of Egypt, and no attempts are made to impose conditions on the MB for that dialogue. Nonetheless, he ruled out any dialogue with the Zionist entity.

Dr. Mahmoud Ghozlan explained that a meeting on Tuesday, 18 October 2011 with a joint delegation from the organization "Freedom House" and aides of some U.S. Congressmen comes in that context.

He stated that there was an extensive discussion about the political climate in Egypt and its impact on the coming elections, and the position of the MB in all that.

He pointed out that the debate about Islam included an explanation of the truth of Islam, and that it is both a religion of mercy for all mankind and a comprehensive law system, and mentioned details for each of these two sides, covering all aspects of life, including the rights of non-Muslims in an Islamic state and how Islam honours all their religious, civil and political rights.

The meeting ended with the U.S. side stressing that they benefited tremendously from this meeting, and learnt a lot that contrasts with what they already knew about Islam and the Muslim Brotherhood, and wished they would meet together more frequently.
