Freedom and Justice Party National Committee Supports Government Dismissal, Representation of All Egyptian Hues in Constituent Assembly

At its meeting, on Friday, 16 March 2012, the Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) National Committee discussed the latest developments in the Egyptian political arena, particularly the withdrawal of confidence from the Government of Dr. Kamal Ganzouri.

The meeting also discussed the FJP’s position on the Constituent Assembly (CA) that will be tasked to draw up a new constitution. The Committee emphasized the need for the CA to be representative of the full spectrum of the Egyptian people, from both within and outside of the People’s Assembly and Shura Council. Furthermore, the meeting debated the issue of presidential elections and related matters.

The FJP’s National Committee is scheduled to complete discussions of these and others topics at a meeting to be held next Friday morning.
