Osama Yassin: Egypt Values Partnership With EU Through Youth Programs

Dr. Osama Yassin, Minister of Youth and former Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) leader, underlined the ministry’s keenness on joint cooperation with the European Union through the application of the Euro-Med Youth Programme, which aims to instill the values ??of respect, tolerance and intercultural understanding among young people.

The Minister of Youth pointed that the ministry will support its Euro-Mediterranean unit for youth in order to get it up to the highest standards for excellent activities and to improve its overall performance.

This came during the first meeting of the committee of the Euro-Med Youth Unit on Monday, at the Ministry of Youth, in the presence of Ambassador Nihad Abdul-Latif, Assistant Secretary of State; Ambassador Marawan Badr, technical advisor to the Office of the Minister of Planning and International Cooperation; and representatives of the European Commission Mission in Cairo.

Yassin revealed that endeavors, in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation, in the coming phase, will aim to activate the cooperation protocols signed between the Ministry of Youth and various countries.

He further affirmed that this step comes as part of the ministry’s policy, which has become a policy of openness and cooperation with others in the fields of youth activities.
