Brotherhood Chairman Badie: Time to Restore Workers Rights Long Ignored by Mubarak Regime
As Egypt quickly approaches self-sufficiency in wheat production, with some provinces reporting more than 10-fold crop increases, Badie urges all Egyptians to shun violence and strikes, and move on to work and production, progress and prosperity.

Dr. Mohamed Badie, Muslim Brotherhood Chairman, stressed that a nation can rise and develop a worthy civilization only with the endeavors of its sons and daughters, pointing that the people are the backbone of real renaissance and rejuvenation.

In his weekly address Thursday, Dr. Badie said: "Under the defunct regime, we saw how workers were afflicted with injustice, their rights ignored, the fruit of their work robbed and smuggled out of the country. We saw how corrupt officials closed honorable workers’ factories, disrupted production, and sold their companies at absurdly cheap prices. Everyone saw how workers were forced into early retirement with meager rewards and virtually no rights, which turned them into armies of unemployed citizens, still in the prime of youth. Worse still, corrupt cronies even stole their seats in both houses of Parliament".

The Muslim Brotherhood’s Chairman added that workers must now go back to their factories and their companies, with determination, steely resolve and a strong faith, and to work diligently, to spin the wheel of production again, in order to achieve prosperity and progress, assured that the fruit of their labor will not be taken away by anyone else, but will benefit them, their children and the homeland as a whole.
