The Alliance affirms that it adheres to peacefulness of protests and denounces all acts of violence that contradict this principle.

The Alliance calls on authorities to immediately investigate and uncover the details of this heinous act as soon as possible. We call on Egyptian media to halt the dissemination of lies and disinformation aimed at accusing peaceful protesters of such crimes.

We reiterate our warning of an apparent plan by security and intelligence agencies to plot violent attacks to terrorize citizens and then accuse peaceful protesters who announced more than once that their power lies in their peacefulness. We are confident that the Egyptian people will not be deceived by these covert plots.
