Pro-Democracy Alliance Sunday Protests Away from Copts Gatherings

In a statement to Anatolia news agency Saturday, Magdy Qorqor, the spokesman for the Anti-Coup Pro-Legitimacy National Alliance, which supports democracy and the elected Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi, affirmed that the President’s supporters will hold demonstrations Sunday away from places where Christians celebrate Easter.

The Alliance’s spokesman said: "We will hold our demonstrations, but they will be away from the places where Copts gather to celebrate Easter, so as not to give saboteurs the chance to instigate sedition and hostility between us".

He pointed that peaceful protests against the military coup will continue, "We will not back down. We will continue to escalate in ‘Egypt is no-one’s private fiefdom’ week of non-violent action, called by the National Alliance in support of President Morsi".
