Coup Security Forces Break Up Unirab Co Workers Strike by Force

Coup security forces in Alexandria Sunday repressed and broke up a Unirab Polvara Spinning and Weaving Co (Unirab) workers’ strike by force: a blatant threat to all workers that demanding their rights will result in lynching and imprisonment.

Unirab company workers blocked Gamila Bouhreid street in Seyouf district, east of Alexandria, outside the company gates Sunday protesting the management’s decision to extend compulsory leave for employees by another 15 days, to close the factory, and to delay the already late payment of the last four months’ salaries and incentives.

Repeated strikes by Unirab company workers, for nearly two months now, are the result of the company shuttering the factory since October 28, 2015, repeated false promises by the coup regime, the elimination of incentives since the beginning of November 2015, and the company’s failure to pay financial dues such as profit shares and social bonuses, which have not been paid since 2014.
