 On the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women on November 25th, The Egyptian Coordination for Rights and Freedoms (ECRF) renewed its demands for the Egyptian government to disclose the fate of the 14 forcibly disappeared women, and to release all Egyptian women political prisoners.

 

 
In its report, ECRF noted the increase in the number of female activists behind bars to 39, arbitrarily arrested and detained in inhuman conditions, including 13 female detainees sentenced to life, or prison terms range between13, 10, and 3 years. Some of the women are kept in pre-trial detention for one or more years, in addition to 14 females in enforced disappearance for varying periods of time.
 
 
ECRF also criticized military trials for civilians, including women. The number of women who have been transferred to military trials in person or in absentia is 23, while Eman Mostafa is now serving 10 years in military prison and Esra Khaled is serving 13 years in prison. 
 
 
According ECRF statistics, the number of women released from detention was 2465, and the number of women who were subject to enforced disappearance and were later located is 148, the number of female detainees who were subjected to medical negligence is 13, three of them are still in detention and subject to life-threatening medical negligence. The number of females who had been sentenced to death is 5 , two of them were sentenced in absentia.
