‘Judges For Egypt’ Coordinator: We Will Continue Anti-Coup Nonviolent Defiance

After referral of five more of Egypt’s most respected judges for interrogation, Justice Mohamed Awad, President of the Court of Appeal of Alexandria and General Coordinator of ‘Judges for Egypt’, issued a statement affirming that "referral to the Competence Committee will not intimidate us… We will continue to support constitutional legitimacy and challenge the coup".

Justice Awad condemned the referral of five honorable judges to the Competence Committee (for interrogation on October 27). Those are: Mustafa Dowidar, Ahmed Radwan Saleh, Mohamed Attallah, Imad Abu-Hashem and Hazem Saleh.

In a post on his official Facebook page, Awad said: "This will not intimidate us or make us back away from doing what is right, supporting the legitimacy of elected President Mohamed Morsi, challenging injustice and tyranny, and facing up to the military coup, even if it cost us our lives – for the sake of our dear homeland Egypt".
