10 Menoufia MBs Arrested in Fresh Sweep

The State Security Police arrested on Sunday ten Muslim Brotherhood (MB) leaders in Menoufia as part of the Egyptian autocratic regime’s unjustified escalations against the group; these escalations started at mid December 2006 with arresting eng. Khairat Al Shater, the second deputy chairman of the Muslim Brotherhood, and a number of MB leaders .
 
Sunday’s detainees are:

-Dr. Mohammed Ramadan “pharmacist”, City of Qwisna

-Dr. Hossam Taguddin “pharmacist”, City of Qwisna

-Hajji Mohamed Wahb ” free business”,  City of Qwisna

-Ahmed Al Shahawi “accountant”, City of Qwisna

-Dr. Ayman Hifzy “veterinarian” City of Qwisna

-Galal Al Aqbawi, city of Shibin Al Kawm

-Osama Yunus, city of Shibin Al Kawm

-Hamdi Mogahed,

-Dr.Ahmed Ismail,

-Ahmed Al-Gamal “teacher”.
 
For his part, eng. Fathi Shehabuddin, a Muslim Brotherhood leader in Monofiya, told Ikhwanweb that ” this crackdown is part of the Egyptian regime’s escalation against the MB, the biggest opposition group in parliament, to prevent it from participating in any activities to confront the coming constitutional amendments that contain more restrictions on freedoms and also to prevent it from fielding candidates in the coming Shura Council elections .
 
Shehabuddin added that maintaining these campaigns confirms that the Egyptian regimes is breaking the promises of improving the files of reforms and human rights in Egypt.
