14 Dakahlia MBs Released on Fake Police Assault Case
 
Dakahlia public prosecution ordered 14 Muslim Brotherhood members from Mit Ghamr released on Wednesday. They were arrested during an election rally for Dr. Khaled Al Dib, the MB candidate for Mit Ghamr constituency in the Shura Council elections, on charges of assaulting policemen.
 
A number of Mit Ghamr policemen, supported by bullies, stormed into the election rally of Dr. Khaled Al Dib, and they assaulted every one they managed to reach, injuring dozens of MB supporters and arresting more than 10 individuals. They raised their eyebrows when the police claimed that they (the detainees) are the attackers.
 
The detainees who have been released:
Fathi Abdul Hamid Al Laithi – an employee at Tanta University
Atiya Saleh Atiya – an employee at the Education Department
Sheikh Mohamed Rizk Mohamed – an imam and preacher
Khaled Fouad Mohamed Ahmed, belongs to the ruling National Democratic Party (NDP) but was detained while passing by the rally
Haitham Ahmed Abdul Aziz Khattab- a plumber
Abdul Khalek Galaluddin Madbouli – a merchant
Mohamed Al Baz Mohamed – an imam and preacher
Mohamed Mahmoud Metwalli- a worker
Sayed Ahmed Abdul Fattah – an engineer
Abdul Aziz Hegazi- an engineer
Sayed Mohamed Ibrahim – owner of a telephone exchange
Mohamed Hosni Mohamed Nassar – an employee at Ghazl Company
Mohammed Magdi Salama, an employee at Oil Ministry
Ahmed Mukhtar Elaeiwa, accountant
This decision of releasing them followed the release of 11 other MB members from districts of Mansoura and Talkha center on Tuesday, to decrease to 50 the number of detainees in this governorate after it was 80.
