16 MB Leaders Jailed 15 Days
The Cairo based Higher State Security Prosecution ordered of 16 top Muslim Brotherhood (MB) leaders jailed for 15 days pending investigation on charges of joining an outlawed group that aims to call for hindering constitution and laws, preventing state bodies from exercising their duties and violating personal and public freedoms of citizens, using terrorism as one of its means to achieve its purposes, in addition to possessing papers and leaflets propagating for this group!!
The investigations continued for more than 6 hours. A number of detainees refused to appear before the prosecution, saying:” It is a traditional boring scene. We know well that prosecution decision has been issued with the arrest warrant”.
Those who refused to appear before the prosecution included: Dr. Mohieddin Al Zaet, engineer Khaled Al Beltagi, Dr. Ali Thabet, sheikh Hamdi Ibrahim, Dr. Hossam Abu Bakr, who denounced the arrest warrant, saying:” It is the first time to know that an invitation for having lunch is illegal and against Egypt’s interests!!”. This was confirmed by all detainees, that engineer Nabil Moqbel invited then to have lunch in his house, something normal specially that article 54 of the constitution gives all citizens the right to meeting anywhere without permission from authorities or any permit.
It is worth mentioning that Egyptian security services arrested on Friday afternoon 16 top MB leaders seniors from the Giza-based house of engineer Nabil Moqbel, including Dr. Mahmoud Hussein, a member of the MB executive office, Dr. Essam El-Erian, Dr. Ahmed Omar, Al-Sayed Al-Nezaili, engineer Nabil Moqbel, Dr. Sanaa Abu Zeid, Dr. Mohamed Kamal, sheikh Hamdi Ibrahim, Dr. Mohie Al Zaet, engineer Hossam Abu Bakr, engineer Khaled Al Beltagi, Dr. Ali Ezzuddin Thabet, Seif Al-Din Maghrabi, Osama Hassanein, Hammam Ali Youssef, and Mohamed Abdul Fattah Ibrahim .
The security services have stormed the house of engineer Nabil Moqbel on Friday afternoon while he was inviting this group to have lunch. The forces arrested them and searched their houses while they were absent and seized computers in their houses, in addition to tens of books and personal papers.
