20 Al Fayyum University Students Denied Access to 1st Semester Exams

A disciplinary board held on Monday Dec, 10th, 2007, for nine students at the Faculty of Dar Al-Ulum, Al Fayyum University, denied them access to two exams of the first semester starting from Jan, 8th, 2008.
 
This is a part of the fierce security campaign that security forces launch against Muslim Brotherhood students at Al Fayyum University, dubbed “the university of kidnapped students, due to the huge number of students who have been detained or kidnapped inside the campus in 2007.
 
Dr. Ibrahim Saqr, the dean of Dar Al-Ulum, issued a decision of denying student Ahmed Abdullah Mohamed, a fourth year student, access to the exams of Sharia and Philosophy, denied Mahmoud Fathi Moawad, Ahmed Abdul Sattar Ramadan and another female student, third year students, access to exams of Modern and Contemporary Literature, Modern Islamic Thought and Mysticism. Dr. Saqr denied students Mohamed Ahmed Saad, Mohamed Gamal Shaaban and two other female students access to two other exams.
 
At the Faculty of Education, 11 students were denied access to the first semester exams. They were dismissed at a time that my affect their morale. The faculty dismissed students:
Saif Abdul Karim, a fourth year student, history dept
Mohamed Ahmed Abdul Sattar, a third year student, geography dept. (dismissed for 3 weeks).
Mostafa Ismail, a fourth year student, primary education dept (dismissed for 3 weeks).
Mahmoud Gamal Khalifa, third year student, maths dept. (dismissed for two weeks).
Ahmed Mohamed Said, a fourth year student, maths dept. (dismissed for two weeks).
Mohamed Saber Ali, fourth year student, primary education dept. (dismissed for two weeks).
Abdul Rahman Kolaib, a fourth year student, geography dept. (dismissed for two weeks).
Mohamed Al Sayed Rabie, a second year student, primary education dept. (dismissed for two weeks).
Ahmed Abdul Hakim Abdul Aziz, a third year student, Arabic dept. (dismissed for two weeks).
Emad Hamdi, a third year student, primary education dept. (dismissed for two weeks).
Mahmoud Fawzi Ahmed, a second year student, primary education dept, (dismissed for two weeks).
 
It is worth mentioning that the dismissed students at the Faculty of Education include student Mostafa Ismail who was threatened by the Minister of Higher Education during dueing the latter”s visit to Al Fayyum university on Sunday, Sep, 23rd, 2007.
 
For their part, the students expressed their anger over the dismissals of the deans of faculties who are actually issued upon state security orders. They said that these decisions aren’t to the benefit of the university or students.
