20 MB Detained from Egypt’s Sharqiya in Fierce Security Crackdown
The state security forces arrested, on Tuesday at dawn January, 2. 2007, 20 Muslim Brotherhood leaders in Sharqiya Governorate, after storming into their houses in an unjustified way for such an illegal action.
The detainees include: Dr. Mohamed Abdul Ghani, Eng. Yasser Roshdi and Abdullah Al Zahawi, MB leaders in the governorate; the detentions included also Dr. Mohsen Qahwa and Abdullah Al Bahrawi, the Bar syndicate member Sharqiya.
These detentions come within framework of a fierce security and media campaign against the Muslim Brotherhood that started several weeks ago with arresting a number of the
group leaders topped by Eng. Mohamed Khayrat Al Shater, the MB second deputy chairman.
Dr. Mohamed Morsi, the Muslim Brotherhood’s Executive Bureau member, confirmed that the crackdown of arrests launched by Egyptian security services on Tuesday at dawn disagrees with the regime’s promises of holding democratic and political reforms.
