21 Muslim Brotherhood Leaders Arrested In Alexandria After Massive Gaza Demos
Egyptian security services arrested Sunday 21 Muslim Brotherhood leaders from the coastal governorate of Alexandria after raiding 25 houses at dawn time.
The security forces arrested Dr. Hassan Al-Birins, a member of the Muslim Brotherhood”s administrative office in Alexandria and a professor at Alexandria Faculty of Medicine, Mohamed Shehata, a member of the Muslim Brotherhood”s administrative office in Alexandria, Abdul Nasser Ali, general coordinator of Teachers without Syndicate movement, Dr. Tawakkul Massoud, the Muslim Brotherhood”s candidate in 2000 and 2005 People”s Assembly elections, Engineer Khamis Jaber, member of Engineers against Guardianship movement, Engineer Mohamed Farid, Engineer Mohamed Sweidan, Dr. Ahmed Shehata, Jamal Imam, Alaa Abdul Wareth, Ibrahim Ismail Ismail, Engineer Abdul Qawi Al Shenawani, Sheikh Shaban Abdul Ati, Nour Ali Nour, Kamal Nasr, Mohamed Yunus Al Geyoushi.
The Muslim Brotherhood in Alexandria staged the largest nationwide pro-Gaza demonstration last Friday. The demonstration drew more than 100 thousand Alexandrian residents. The current sweeps of arrests against the group”s leaders come amidst continues protests organized by the MB against the Zionist massacres against the besieged Gaza Strip.
