9 More Monofiya MBs Arrested

State Security Police is still maintaining its unjustified crackdown against the Muslim Brotherhood (MB) in Monofiya, as more houses of MB members were raided on Thursday at dawn in villages and towns of the governorate, arresting 9 individuals .
The fresh sweep led to detaining:
Nabil Al-Muaaz, a teacher from Sers Al-Layan
Ashraf Hilal, a merchant from Maslaha
Hamdi Mogahed, a teacher from Mit Khaqan
Hisham Warwari, a teacher from Shinwan
Yasser Hashkil, a teacher and manager of the media center of the parliamentary bloc in Monofiya, from village of Meleg
Gamal Zayed, a teacher from Ashmun
Engineer Ibrahim Haggag, a businessman and a former candidate for the People”s Assembly for constituency of Minuf and Al Sadat
Ahmed Al Shahawi, an employee at the Education Department in Quasna
Mohamed Seweilam, an employee at the general syndicate of engineers, from Ashmun.
In a related context, five Muslim Brotherhood members detained last week were released after Shibin Al Kawm Court of Appeals acquitted them on Tuesday, Nov, 20th, 2007 without bail because the prosecution charges against them were deemed groundless.
The five received a previous release on Monday Nov, 19th, 2007, from Shibin Al Kawm criminal court without a bail, but the prosecution challenged the ruling and another session was set for them in Shibin Al Kawm Court of Appeals which acquitted them, but they are still under custody in the Shibin Al Kawm State Security Police premises.
