Abu Zuhri: Obama’s statement proves unlimited support for Israel
– Dr. Sami Abu Zuhri, a Hamas spokesman, said in a press release on Tuesday that American president Barack Obama’s statement on the occasion of Nakba affirmed his administration’s bias in favor of Israel at the expense of Palestinian rights and constants.
Abu Zuhri doubted the integrity and credibility of the American administration in the alleged “peace process”, adding that Washington is not fit to play the honest broker in the “peace process” between Israel and the Fatah-controlled authority in Ramallah.
He said that Obama’s statement was a clear message to all Arab parties concerned with the peace process, asking the Arab countries not to bet on the American role in this regard.
The spokesman called on Fatah faction not to race behind a mirage of “futile talks” based on American “hollow” promises.
Obama said in a statement on the anniversary of Israel’s establishment on usurped Palestinian land that his administration would remain committed to Israel’s security, adding that the historical land of Palestine was the historical homeland for the Jews.
