ACHR Chief to Attend Sunday’s MB Military Tribunal
Dr. Violet Dagher, chairperson of the Arabic Committee for Human Right(ACHR), is expected to the fourth session of the military court against Muslim Brotherhood (MB) leaders topped by engineer Khairat Al-Shater the MB”s second deputy chairman. She will attend the military tribunal as an observer.
The previous three sessions witnessed a myriad presence of international human rights organizations that attended to show solidarity with the MB civilians referred to the military court. The international figures that attended the previous sessions included the former US Attorney General Ramsey Clark, UK journalist Yvonne Ridley, Dr. Haitham Manaa, the deputy chairman of the Arab Organization for Human Rights, Hasiba Haj Sahrawi from Amnesty International, Canadian lawyer Faisal Kouti and Sir Ivan Lawrence, the former legal advisor of the Queen of England, in addition to many other international human rights figures.
It is worth mentioning that all international observers were denied access to the previous military court sessions. UK noted lawyer Ali Azhar was prevented even from entering Egypt after he was held at the airport and deported to Britain to prevent him from attending the last session.
