Action: Mass killings in el-Baida
Human Rights Solidarity is deeply concerned on the news of mass killings going on since late afternoon of Thursday 17th February 2011, in the town of el-Baida.
According to sources on the ground that the number of demonstrators killed Thursday is between 15-20 and hundreds of injuries. The local hospitals have been overwhelmed and could no longer cope.
According to our sources, a special security battalion was flows in early hours of Thursday. The battalion is commanded by Col. Khamees al Ghadhafi, the youngest son of the Libyan leader. The sources stated that the soldiers were shooting directly at the demonstrator.
Human Rights Solidarity calls on the United Nations and the world community to do everything in their disposal to force the Libyan regime to stop these criminal acts. What is going on in el-Baida and Benghazi of killing unarmed civilians, who posed no threat to anyone, amounts to a crime against humanity.
