Ahmed Maher, 6 April: Unity is How Revolution Succeeded, Must Be Restored
Coordinator for the April 6th Movement, Ahmed Maher asserted there were no differences between the revolutionaries in Tahrir Square. He stressed "There were no clashes between those who took to the square to celebrate the revolution’s 1st anniversary or those who called for retribution for the revolution’s victims.
Standing on the Muslim Brotherhood (MB), run stage in Tahrir Square he stated: "Each and every faction in Egypt participated in the revolution and took upon itself the burden of ensuring its demands are met". Chanting, we are all one hand, protestors joined Maher shouting the revolutionary cry illustrating unity as he stood on the stage.
He reminded the crowds who would benefit if they became divided, calling on all to demonstrate restraint and revive the former spirit of the revolution. Concluding his speech, Maher stressed: "It is significant we remain united till all demands are met and power is handed over smoothly to a civilly elected authority".
