Akef: Organized Structure and Perfect Performance are Keys of our Success

By Muhammad el-Shreef

The Supreme Guide of the Moslem Brotherhood, Muhammad Akef, said that the so far landslide victory of the Brotherhood in the parliamentary polls is the outcome of many factors; organized structure, devoted performance, and the unpopularity of government and its ruling party.

’Following this sweeping win, the Brotherhood will not seek to license a party from the Party Committee, which he termed as illegal,’ Akef told American news agency.

’After the abolishment of this committee and of Party Law, we will license a party via judiciary, which acts in accordance with the Egyptian constitution that endows the right of unconditionally launching of parties,’ he added.

Akef highlighted that the popular support of the group is its real validity. The outcome of the parliamentary vote so far is an irrefutable illustration. In fact, the Brotherhood’s wins were predictable but its widely gained popularity came as a complete surprise.

Akef indicated that the group is a comprehensive Islamic institution, in which politics is a part and parcel of its activities. Therefore, the government should find out a solution to the group’s legal status.

Akef, in addition, emphatically denied the accusation that the Brotherhood does not adhere always to democracy, saying that shora, consultation in Arabic, is a typical Islamic demand to which the group is thoroughly committed. He concluded that the Brotherhood acknowledges the smooth transference of power via polls.
