Akef: We’re Relieved For Jill Carroll’s Release
MB Chairman, Mr. Mohamed Akef, expressed his joy for the safe release of American journalist Jill Carroll after nearly three months in captivity “We are grateful to Allah for her release” Mr. Akef stated. The Muslim Brotherhood had issued several statements appealing to kidnapers to release Carroll indicating that Islam does not condone taking civilians hostages.
Jill Carroll was freed by her captors where she walked into the office of the Iraqi Islamic Party asking for help. " We enabled her to call her family in the U.S. to break the news of her release; and handed her over in good health to the American Embassy in Baghdad" said a spoksperson of the Iraqi Islamic Party. Jill Carroll praised her captors and stated they treated her nice and denied any physical or emotional abuse.
Ikhwanweb welcomes Jill Carroll release unharmed, and thanks all those who were involved in making it happened. We also call for the release of all Iraqi female prisoners detained by U.S. and Iraqi troops.
