Akef:MB’s elections proved further the strength of the movement and the efficiency of its regulations.
Chairman of the Muslim Brotherhood Mr Mohamed Mahdi Akef ascertained that the latest elections of the Guidance Bureau illustrated the real strength of the movement and its effective policy with its free, fair and transparent elections. He commended the members’ commitment to the cause despite numerous attempts to cause division among them adding that “The Brothers have remained united and unyielding in the face of corruption by certain individuals and for this I thank Allah”.
The chairman stressed that the Movement was in need of minor amendments in its regulations and all of its members should be open to change and improvement since any improvements will benefit all elements of the movement for reform is progress.
Akef viewed the movement’s future with optimism highlighting that members both young and old demonstrated integrity and maturity and with this resilience there will be a brighter future.
He concluded his statement by calling on all to remain united for the Movement’s cause is an Islamic, reformist, progressive cause and its major aim is to spread the word of Islam through peaceful and stable methods. The movements’ members must learn to accept conflict and tension; through this they will learn to feel a sense of self by defending their cause. Akef called on one and all to join the movements’ cause or at least appreciate the success of its efforts. He reminded his brothers in the movement that “The harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly; it is dearness only that gives everything its value. We must smile in trouble, and gather strength from distress and grow brave by reflection,” adding “He whose heart is firm, and whose conscience approves his conduct, will pursue his principles unto death”.
