Al-Bayoumi: The Syrian Revolution Will Triumph; World Support Essential

In a statement to Ikhwanweb, Dr. Al-Bayoumi said, "The year that has elapsed since the free Syrian people’s revolution has unmasked the truly criminal face of the country’s murderous regime who have committed horrendous crimes against humanity, just as it has uncovered the true noble nature of the Syrian people who are determined to regain their usurped freedoms, and who have made tremendous sacrifices as they persistently sought fulfillment for their legitimate demands”. He also called upon the international community to take urgent action to save Syrian civilians.

Further, Dr. Al-Bayoumi hailed the Syrian people’s steadfast peaceful struggle against daily, bloody abuses by the regime of Bashar Al-Assad. He stressed that the Syrians’ enormous sacrifices will not go in vain, and that their revolution will win out.

A United Nations official has confirmed that more than 8000 people have been killed since the Syrian revolution began – a year ago – against the regime of the dictator Bashar Al-Assad. Moreover, the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) said that about 230,000 Syrians fled their homes during the past year, including about 30,000 who left the country altogether.
