Al Erian: MB Supports Calls to Free The World of WMDs

In his comment on the Security Council resolution of imposing sanctions on Iran, the MB leader Dr. Essam El-Erian, said that this resolution highlights the double standard policy of the Security Council by imposing sanctions on Iran while it gives a blind eye to the Israeli nuclear arsenal despite the latest statements of the Israeli Prime Minister in which he confirmed Israel has nuclear weapons.

Al Erian added in a statement to Ikhwanweb that every country has the right to possess nuclear energy for peaceful purposes and the Arab and Islamic countries have the right to possess a nuclear energy for peaceful purposes.

Al Erian hoped that all countries can work for freeing the world of the weapons of mass destruction and to use the nuclear technology as an alternative source of energy to the service of humanity and mankind, not that kind of use to make weapons of mass destruction that lead humanity destruction and annihilation.

The UN Security Council unanimously adopted, last Saturday, a draft resolution that imposes sanctions on Iran due to its alleged " sensitive nuclear activities, topped by uranium enrichment".
The new UN resolution imposes a ban on supply nuclear materials and technology and missile technology to Iran; the resolution lacked several articles that were introduced in the first draft lodged by Britain, Germany and France, but were deleted after Russia objections; the deleted articles included imposing a travel ban on a number of Iranian officials who work in the nuclear field, and freezing assets of 11 Iranian companies that work in the missile and nuclear activities; the UN resolution invokes section 41 of the seventh chapter of the United Nations Charter, that allows taking measures against Iran without resorting to a military action.
