Al-Shater in Detention: Putschists Try to Rob Egypt; Revolution Must Uproot Deep State

In a post on his Facebook page, Saad Al-Shater, the son of Khairat Al-Shater – deputy leader of the Muslim Brotherhood, said he visited his father in detention Thursday.

"He said there must be a revolution to uproot the corrupt who want to make a come-back to rob the country.

"He also said old regime holdovers are trying to loot the country’s resources. Nothing will stand in their way short of a real revolution that will uproot all the deep state."

Earlier, the South Cairo Prosecution Service renewed Al-Shater’s detention for 15 more days pending investigations on charges of incitement and attempted murder of protesters outside the Brotherhood’s headquarters in Mokattam.
