Alexandria: Defense lawyers object to ignored release orders of detained MB members.

Prosecutors in Alexandria refused to comply with a release order given to the Muslim Brotherhood members in Alexandria. The order was given after hearings proved that the arrests and accusations were baseless. However the detainees are once again to be presented before court in complete defiance to the verdict Tuesday December 8.
The arrested members who were accused of organizing the Eid prayers and collecting and distributing meat to the poor were arrested before festive Eid. The court found these indictment impractical hence issued release orders to the detainees namely:
Farag Abou Haroun
Dr Ahmed Shehata
Mohamed Fowzy
Mohamed Aladawy
Gala Nada
Islam Mohsen
Abbass Heikal
Saeed Mahdy
Alaa Abdul Warith
Abdul Mordy Mohamed
Amr Mahfouz
Essam Abdul Mageed
Amr Khalaf
Alsayed Saad
Ibrahim Abdul Mowla
On another note the Alexandria Criminal Court refused to accept appeals for 3 of the movement’s leaders who were arrested earlier despite former release orders. Lawyers objected in defense claiming that the temporary detention is baseless as no evidence is found to the accusations. Nevertheless the detainees were given an extended 15 day detention order.
Eng. Bassam Bahr, one of the detainees was absent during the hearing because of his health. He is currently in hospital where it is expected that he will be operated on.
