Algerian MB Express Happiness on the Triumph of People’s Will in Presidential Elections
The Algerian Movement for a Peaceful Society (Muslim Brotherhood in Algeria), in a statement which Ikhwanweb had a copy of, has expressed its satisfaction regarding the triumph of the people”s will and the triumph of democracy and the option of national reconciliation.
The statement thanked all citizens for their national spirit which aimed at extracting Algeria from the national tragedy.
“The movement takes the success of elections and missing the opportunity on those who advocate boycotting and non-participation as a chance to congratulate the whole Algerian nationals, in particular youth and expresses its appreciation and gratitude for the outstanding lesson which is recorded in the history with golden letters”.
The Algerian President Abdul Aziz Bouteflika has won the elections with 90.24% of votes in the Presidential Elections with an unexpected percentage of participation.
According to what was announced by the Algerian Minister of Interior Noureldin Zerhouni, Bouteflika won with the votes of 12,911,705 voters (nearly 90,24%) out of 14.38 million voters whose papers were adopted in the screening process, in which the turnout reached 74, 54%.
