An invitation to transfer the Brotherhood’s means of breaking fast to those affected by earthquakes

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful: 

[[ The example of those who spend their money in the path of Allah is like a seed from which spring forth seven ears (of grain) in each ear there are a hundred seeds, and Allah is All Expansive (in giving), All Knowing. ]] 

Al Baqarah: 261

Sensing what befell our brothers who were affected by the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria, and in response to the condition of our people in Egypt, I call on the Muslim Brotherhood in the countries of the world, on the occasion of the blessed month of Ramadan, to stop holding any public ‘Iftars’ (breaking of fast) this year at home and abroad, and to direct their costs to support those affected by the earthquakes, as well as our people inside Egypt. This comes from the Islamic brotherhood that unites us, and in response to the honourable guidance of the Prophet in his saying, may Allah’s salutations and peace be upon him, on the authority of Al-Nu’man bin Bashir, may Allah be pleased with him:

“The example of the believers in their affection, mercy and compassion for each other, is the likeness of a body, if one part of the body feels pain then the whole body is kept awake at night.”  [agreed upon by Al Bukhari and Muslim].

I ask Allah to reconcile our hearts and to accept our fasting, night prayers, and good deeds, from us all. I also pray to Him, Glory be to Him, to lift the anguish of our brothers in Turkey and Syria and our people in Egypt, and to protect the Muslim countries and all humanity from all harm and evil… He is All-Hearing and All-Responsive.
