Announcement of Talaat Mustafa’s Participation In Global Forum

“Al Eqtisadiah” Saudi Newspaper cited that the businessman Hisham Talaat Mustafa, is on the list of the presence in the conference of Global Forum on International Investment (GFII), hosted by Riyadh city during the period between 19 to 20 October, the present.

This news reinforces the rumors that were circulated in Cairo about the oncoming settlement of the case, in which he was accused of inciting the murder of the Lebanese singer Suzan Tamim, and the possibility of his release in the coming period.

 It is scheduled to begin the first session of the trial on Hisham Talaat on the eve of holding the conference on October 18, which means the possibility of his travel to attend the conference in the case of releasing him, which is possible in the light of indicators and predictions about issuing a decision to release him.

Essam Al Tabaakh, lawyer and the former attorney of Adel Maatouq (divorce of Suzan Tamim), announced his waiving to bring a civil suit against the Egyptian businessman, and his joining the defense of Hisham Talaat which includes two lawyers, Fared Al Deeb and Hafez Farhood.

While Maatouq confirmed that he would not participate in condemning an innocent person, concerning the killing of Suzan Tamim, and that he has evidences that acquit Mustafa from the charge of inciting the murder of the Lebanese singer.

However, legal sources ruled out the possibility of the businessman”s participation in the Global Forum on Investment, for not to make the issue seems to be arranged, or to come within the framework of a deal that Egypt concluded by Mustafa”s friends who are close to the Authority, which may then cause embarrassment to many parties, particularly the United Arab Emirates where the murder of killing the singer was.

Dr. Abdullah Al Ashaal, a professor of international law at Cairo University, pointed out to the possible settlement of the case, and the release of Hisham Talaat Mustafa in the light of the developments of the case, starting from allowing him to write articles in “Akbar Al Youm” newspaper, and the Global Forum on Investment”s announcing of his participation in the conference in Riyadh, in the day following the trial, and ending with joining the lawyer of Suzan Tamim”s divorce the defense of Hisham Talaat.

Al Ashaal revealed that there is a kind of concern by those close to authority to save “their man” Hisham Talaat Mustafa, for fear of raising issues during the trial; condemn important and influential figures within the government.
