Anti-Coup Alliance Calls ‘Freedom, Dignity, Social Justice’ Protest Week
In Egypt, in the era of the illegitimate Sisi, prices soar, so there is decent living; a dozen prisons are built, with suppression and persecution expanding, so there is no freedom – nor dignity; and thieves and murderers are in the state’s top posts, while the poor, the oppressed, the marginalized and the free patriots are languishing in prison, in exile, being hounded, ostracized or just suffer price hikes, water shortages and a world of chaos.
Sisi is deliberately putting Egypt under huge mountains of debt and economic failure. The traitorous general and his gang want the country to remain on the brink of the abyss, ruled by an iron fist, with any democratic experiment in the near future doomed to failure even before it is started. But we will never allow this.
Egypt will not fall. Corruption will not continue in power. People of conscience will not remain silent with Egypt in grave danger, economically, politically and socially, and is losing its essential, natural, historical share of Nile water.
Certainly, the policies of exclusion, ostracization and treachery will not succeed in building a homeland where the military junta deals the people all kinds of humiliation, repression and failure.
The blood of the martyrs of the January 2011 Revolution, of Mohamed Mahmoud Street, Abbasid Square, the Cabinet building and the Rabaa and Nahda squares still reminds us of what we have been rising in revolt for since January 25, 2011 when we all, without distinction, chanted: "Bread, freedom, social justice, human dignity". We must chant those goals again, get united, to save our country, our homeland.
The Anti-Coup Pro-Legitimacy National Alliance urges all Egyptians to come out in a new protest week titled "Bread, freedom, social justice" as part of the revolutionary wave "Leave".
The Alliance strongly rejects all the coup regime’s maneuvers to raise prices again, and its vengeful actions against political prisoners. There is no substitute for a true partnership that supports principles, values, freedoms, justice, dignity, rights and respect for popular will.
Everyone should urgently note two things:
First: President Mohamed Morsi now faces unacceptable unjust sentences from intensely politicized judiciary. He is banned from receiving visits from family members since the coup three years ago. Generally, he suffers unprecedented absurdly harsh measures. These should not be allowed to continue, especially with more sentencing expected in a court session Saturday.
Second: the decision to give up Egyptian Tiran and Sanafir islands is very much like the military coup itself: null and void. The two islands are Egyptian. We will not accept any other view, and we will not recognize or accept the traitorous coup. We await Tuesday’s hearing and sentencing.
This fury, sparked three years ago, will not plead with the unjust, the oppressors, and will not ask for pardon from the treasonous criminals. We fully believe that Sisi and his cronies will be toppled. Soon, we will chant in front of Itehadia Presidential Palace for the triumph of popular will and for Egypt once again a homeland for all, with effective transitional justice, martyrs’ rights restored, essential development underway, and a partnership rebuilding Egypt and safeguarding the rights of Egyptians, all Egyptians without exception.
Our Revolution will soon overthrow injustice, usher in an era of dignity and justice, defeat corruption, rebuild the country, stop the bloodshed, and preserve human life – of every human being, and thus achieve freedom, social justice and human dignity for all.
