Anti-Coup Pro-Democracy National Alliance: Coup is Terror Protest Week

Two years after the murderous military coup, which crushed the first democratic experience in Egypt and shattered the dream of Egyptians to live in freedom and human dignity, today the Egyptian people – all groups and political orientations – rally for the removal of the illegitimate coup regime and the trying of its commander Abdel-Fattah Al-Sisi and his authoritarian oligarchy that destroyed Egypt.

In "6th of October City", the coup regime assassinated 9 leaders, having earlier arrested them and taken their fingerprints, then shot and killed them in cold blood. In Sinai, attacks killed and wounded dozens of civilians and soldiers. This drags the country into a dangerous state of chaos, poses a real threat to the security of Egypt, and exposes people to great dangers, all due to the arrogance of the coup regime and its commander and their sowing the seeds of violence and terror.

The Anti-Coup Pro-Legitimacy National Alliance condemns state terrorism by the coup regime and the killing of Egyptian soldiers. We call on all Egyptians to join protests in a new revolutionary week under the title of "Coup is terror… We will defeat you", as part of the revolutionary wave "Victory and Retribution".

We solemnly praise the men and women of the Revolution, especially the youth and women, who have turned out in non-stop protests over two full years. We call on the rest of the population to join us, in order to expedite the homeland’s recovery from its current crises.

We affirm that the mad military coup commander’s behavior and brutal policies is what planted terrorism in the Sinai and Egypt’s governorates. We also stress that the only solution that can save Egypt and the whole region is putting an end to this ruinous military coup and the trying of its leader and all those who participated in it, and the return of the army to its barracks.

This is no longer a demand of the Alliance alone, but of all free and patriotic citizens and all those who search for real security and stability.
