Anti-Coup Pro-Legitimacy Alliance Statement on Revolution Anniversary Peaceful Protests

To all loyal revolutionary men and women of Egypt…

The Anti-Coup Pro-Legitimacy National Alliance pays tribute to the steadfast, a tribute to the fury of the liberty squares of Egypt, a special tribute to the millions’ sacrifices, a tribute to the glorious masses of Egyptians turning out to demonstrate peacefully against the repressive putschists.

Your courageous actions spoke loud and clear, telling the story of steadfastness and sacrifice, and began to reclaim the Revolution.

Dozens of martyrs were killed Saturday by the repressive regime of bombings, terror and genocide. Hundreds of unarmed demonstrators were injured, and hundreds more were arrested. Unspeakable crimes by most shameless fascist criminals. But nothing makes us greats as great pain.

Today, history shall witness that in Egypt a great generation has driven forth for over seven months a great Revolution it continues to lead towards a glorious triumph – without a doubt. After all, it is a generation of proud patriotic people ​​who will never cower or hesitate in the face of forces of falsehood and injustice. And theirs is a Revolution fueled by the precious blood of honorable martyrs.

To the resilient people of Egypt, facing with bare chests the brutal machine of murderous coup repression…

The Alliance has warned the coup, thousands of times, to stop spreading division, strife and bloodshed among the people of this one homeland. Today, protecting regime supporters they had worked hard to mobilize, the putschists threw flags over the few who turned up carrying posters of deposed Mubarak and the mass murderer general in Tahrir Square. As those few sang and danced, enjoying all means of protection from coup forces, in nearby streets and squares, anti-coup Egyptians were being shot at with heavy barrages of live bullets, toxic gas bombs and birdshot pellets by heavily-armed coup forces who never hesitated to spill their blood, committing the most heinous crimes against unarmed civilians.

Let the murderers bear the burden of their crimes. Repression sparks revolutions and popular rage is greater than the putschists’ bulldozers. This rage will defeat the counter-revolution and its icons of corruption and oppression. They never understood! Egypt will certainly outlast all coup slaves and their masters.

To the resilient people of Egypt, to all loyal revolutionary men and women of this one homeland…

Persist in your peaceful defiance. Double your courageous activities that will besiege the coup and extinguish its falsehood, in this powerful tidal wave. Excel in those protest activities, with more ingenuity and steadfastness, and steer events on the ground so as to fulfil the demands of the millions who turn out in anti-coup demonstrations. Co-ordinate your efforts well on the streets. You have sparked up flames that will not be extinguished until fair retribution is achieved, the Revolution is restored and the truth is spoken.
