Arab information ministers: Media should focus on breaking the siege

CAIRO,– Arab information ministers sitting in Cairo called on the Arab media to highlight the Israeli siege on Gaza and the importance of breaking it.
The Arab ministers in a closing statement on Wednesday also championed a media plan to confront Israeli attempts to Judaize Jerusalem and demolish the Aqsa Mosque.
They appealed to the Arab media to desist from any reporting that might endorse division in the Palestinian arena, and to support efforts to patch up the inter-Palestinian discord.
The ministers said that countries hosting satellite channels should respect controls regarding satellite broadcasting, asserting, at the same time, the importance of combating extremism, violence, sectarianism, terrorism, and incitement while insisting on media freedoms.
