Arab National Conference Expresses Solidarity With Lebanese Resistance
Ikhwanoweb has obtained a copy of a statement released by the Arab National Conference, in which the conferees criticized the Arab League (AL), the UN, the Arab regimes and the international community for their silence over the atrocities committed by Israel against the Lebanese people. The statement laid stress on the backing of the Lebanese people and the resistance and hailed as heroic the recent operation in which the Lebanese resistance abducted two Israeli soldiers.
For his part, Conference Secretary General Mr. Al Safeeny sent a message to the AL Secretary General, the second one in a month, in which he called on the Arab states to break their silence and offer support to the Lebanese and Palestinians. Al Safeeny in his message also held the AL secretary general responsible for the Israeli crimes. The message also praised the steadfastness of the Lebanese and Palestinian resistance, assuring their ability to whither the storm. Defending the operation, the message said that no quarter in Lebanon condemned it especially that Hizbullah had earlier announced that abduction of Israeli soldiers had become part of its strategy to combat the occupation and free prisoners, but some factors hastened the recently launched operation.
On the Saudi critical position, the statement said that the operation launched by Hizbullah was well planned rather than an “adventure” as the Saudi statements claimed, adding that it is time for Saudi Arabia to realize that resistance is the only effective means in the Arab conflicts with the Israel. The statement suggested that this attitude on the part of Saudi Arabia is an attempt to pressure the coming Arab foreign ministers to take a softer position toward the Israeli aggressions. The statement added that the Israel’s aggression on Lebanon would not have happened had the Arab regimes taken a unified stand toward aggressions on Gaza.
The statement reaffirmed its support of both the Palestinian and Lebanese resistance, sympathizing with the Arab prisoners in the Israeli prisons.
