MSP Spokesman: We Seek Good Results in Municipal Elections

Farouk Abu Serag Al Dhahab, the media spokesman of Algeria”s Movement for the Society of Peace (MSP), confirmed that the movement will participate in the municipal elections scheduled to be held next November.
 
Abu Serag Al Dhahab said in a statement to Ikhwanweb that the Movement for the Society of Peace is in the last stage of preparing for the municipal elections.
 
” The MSP”s Shura Council has approved the nomination list last July, and governorates have started the nomination process and preparing elections papers”, said Abu Serag Al Dhahab adding that “The Movement for the Society of Peace held its summer assembly- an annual summer conference- entitled “municipal elections… Opportunities and challenges” to highlight the MSP”s interest in representing people in the municipal councils. The MSP”s four day conference discussed the movement”s election program, mechanisms of the election campaign and the discourse directed to people”.
 
Asked about the expectations for the municipal elections, Abu Serag Al Dhahab said the movement worth winning in the elections due its candidates steadfastness and its stable public opinion that may secure for it positive results similar to those of the legislative elections.
 
Abu Serag Al Dhahab confirmed that the movement calls for necessarily amending the law of municipalities and states ahead of elections so that those elected can carry out of their roles without any of the authorities” pressures, including rigging elections.
 
Abu Serag Al Dhahab added that the movement expects to achieve good results in the elections, especially after the good result it achieved in the latest legislative elections.
