Ali Ammar, the chairman of the political office of The Islamic Group, accled on Lebanese members of parliament to " be up to the responsibility and take part in the parliamentary session held on Nov, 21st  to elect a new president".

Ammar confirmed that " if we failed to elect a new president before the end of the current president"s term, Fouad Siniora-led government- which gains the confidence of parliament- should undertake all authorities according to Lebanese constitution, until a new president is elected.

Ammar pointed out that any measure taken by president Emile Lahoud whose term has been extended by force will be considered " a scandalous violation to the constitution and it will be dealt with according to this, and every one must confront it by all legal methods to prevent any attack against the constitution".

Ali Ammar added that Lebanon is expected to witness a state of havoc and chaos and that sharp conflicts may take place unless there is a consensus over a new president. Thus, the members of parliament should settle this issue and be up to the responsibility through participating in the parliamentary session held this Nov, 21st.

Ammar added:" The initiative currently discussed by the Maronite cardinal Nasrallah Sfeir, Speaker Nabih Berri and the chairman of the Future Parliamentary Bloc, MP Saad Al Hariri, must be given all chances over the next few days ahead of the stated session. This is because most Lebanese think that this initiative will manage to reach an understanding about a constitutional mechanism through which a new president can be elected before the coming deadline .
