Probe Opens into New Clip Showing Forcing Young Woman to Strip

Central Cairo prosecution decided to open investigation into the latest clip of torture widely seen on the Internet and on mobiles phones. The latest clip shows an armed man believed to be a policeman slapping a girl suspect and forcing her to strip completely.

The human rights center for Legal Assistance, filed a lawsuit to the general prosecutor calling for investigation to determine who was in the clip and whether it showed a policeman, specially that this new clip was preceded by several other clip showing abuses committed against Egyptian citizens in police stations.
Prosecutors began their investigation on Thursday, a security official said, speaking on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to discuss the case.
An Egyptian court has recently convicted policeman Islam Nabih on charge of torturing and sodomizing citizen Emad El Kabir, after the incident was shot and widely posted on the Internet.

The human rights center for Legal Assistance said that the new footage shows a person beating a woman, attempting to rape her and forcing her to strip completely.

The torturer is shown in the footage carrying a gun and he is believed to be a policeman. A complaint was submitted over this case and it was registered under no. 1560 of the year 2006 central Cairo prosecution.

The prosecution summoned lawyer, Mohsen el-Bahnasi, head of human rights center for Legal Assistance, to hear his testimony regarding the complaint submitted by the centre and to identify the one who committed this crime. El-Bahnasi attended the investigations that lasted for more than seven hours with lawyer Mohamed Abul Enein.

Legal sources feared that the investigations may focus on knowing the source of this clip source instead of identifying the one who committed this crime.
