Hamas: Israel expedites steps to destroy the Aqsa Mosque

Hamas Movement has warned Thursday that the Aqsa Mosque in the occupied city of Jerusalem was facing serious Israeli attempts to destroy it with the aim to build the alleged Third Temple on its ruins.

The Movement also described as misleading the threats uttered by the PA negotiation team that they will freeze the negotiations if Israeli plans to judaize the occupied city of Jerusalem persisted.

In this regard, the Movement called for united and stern Palestinian stand in confronting such “vicious” Israeli schemes against the Mosque, urging the PA team negotiating with the Israelis to stop those “futile” talks.

In a statement it issued and a copy of which was obtained by the PIC, Hamas deplored the PA leadership silence towards Israel”s atrocities in Jerusalem, the Gaza Strip, and the West Bank.

“The Zionist entity continues its bloody crimes and terrorism [against the Palestinian people] under international cover and blessing, which they obtained after the ill-fated Annapolis conference as evident in the escalating Israeli campaign to distort Arab and Muslim identity and features of Jerusalem as obvious in the increasing numbers of Israeli settlements built in the city, in addition to the IOF aggressions on Gaza Strip and the West Bank that reap more innocent Palestinian lives on daily basis”, the Movement underlined in the statement.

The Movement also condemned Israel”s “flagrant” violation of human rights laws and conventions in dealing with Palestinian captives in Israeli jails, affirming that 194 Palestinian prisoners died due to deliberate medical neglect on the part of their Israeli jailors, or under torture during interrogation.

Around 61 other Palestinian citizens, including women and children among others, suffering from chronic diseases died after the Israel occupation government refused to grant them exit permits to receive medical treatment outside the besieged Gaza Strip.

The tiny Strip, where nearly 1.5 million Palestinians are living, had been under repressive Israeli economic blockade sanctioned by the US administration and its international, regional, and local allies.

Such serious developments prompted Hamas Movement to urge the international community and the Arab and Muslim worlds to take decisive stands against the Israeli relentless crimes against the Palestinian people.

The Movement also called on the Palestinian people to consolidate ranks and to strengthen the Palestinian internal front in order to block and foil the Israeli schemes that aim at breaking the Palestinian will and determination, and to force the Palestinian people into abandoning their legal rights and national constants.
