Mishaal: Return of electricity to Gaza a correction of a wrong situation

Khaled Mishaal, the head of Hamas political bureau, said on Monday that the return of electricity to the Gaza Strip is a correction of a wrong situation, pointing out that the Gaza people are looking forward to lifting the suffocating siege imposed on them for eight months. In an interview with the Aqsa satellite channel, Mishaal said the Egyptian government told him that the crisis will end Tuesday, calling on the Palestinian people especially in Gaza to continue their steadfastness until the siege ends completely.

The Hamas political leader stated that the Hamas political bureau is still pursuing its contacts with officials all over the world particularly Arabs, pointing out that there are many officials and leaders trying to support the Palestinian people, but the American hegemony always blocks many of them from doing something. In a press conference held by the popular committee to confront the siege in front of the UN headquarters in Gaza, MP Jamal Al-Khudari, the head of the committee, underlined that silence on the crime of Gaza siege cannot continue because if it did, it would reach the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem, then the Arab countries one after the other.MP Khudari pointed out that there are 155 Palestinian patients including 335 serious cases who are in need to travel abroad for medical treatment through the Rafah border crossing; in addition, there are thousands of Palestinians in Gaza who lost their jobs after 3,900 factories shot down and infrastructure projects stopped because of lack of law materials.

The lawmaker hailed the positions of John Ging, the UNRWA director in Gaza, in support of the Gaza people against the Israeli siege, but he called on him at the same time to pressure the Israeli occupation more effectively to end the siege. In a message handed to the UN representative in Gaza, the children of Palestine called on the UN secretary-general as well as the western, Arab and Islamic world to intervene urgently to save Gaza and its children and to get the siege lifted in order to be able to live peacefully like the other children in the world.
