PA caretaker premier Ismail Haneyya has affirmed that the Gaza crossings should all be opened the soonest and the siege should come to an immediate end.

Haneyya, who was extending condolences on the death of PFLP founder George Habash Sunday evening, said, "We will not accept the confinement of the Palestinian people (in Gaza) under siege anew".

He appealed to the Arab League to agree on a set of practical steps to break the siege once and for all on Gaza and to activate its previous decision in this regard.

The premier stressed the importance of national unity, demanding the immediate start of inter-Palestinian dialogue without any conditions attached.
