Wide-scale sweeps of arrests have taken place today dawn (Tuesday March 4, 2008) in three Egyptian governorates. The Egyptian Security Forces arrested dozens of MB affiliates on the first day for registering and fielding candidates in the municipal elections held at the beginning of next April.

Wide-scale sweeps of arrests have taken place today dawn (Tuesday March 4, 2008) in three Egyptian governorates. The Egyptian Security Forces arrested dozens of MB affiliates on the first day for registering and fielding candidates in the municipal elections held at the beginning of next April.

Names of the MBs arrested in Fayoum governorate known to Ikhwanweb till now:

1. Magdy Mohamed Tolb.
2. Ahmed Qasem, MB candidate in 2005 Parliamentary elections.
3. Mostafa Ragab, MB candidate in 2007 Shura council elections.
4. Hisham Abdul-Wahhab.
5. Abdul-Maqsoud Ahmed.
6. Mohamed Ahmed Badr.
7. Eid Zakariya.
8. Amr Ayoub.
9. Ayman Sobhi.
10. Kamal Arafa.
11. Sha’ban Ashour.
12. Khaled Mahmoud Taha.
13. Baheeg Abdul-Mon’em.
14. Mohamed Abdel-Sattar.
15. Mahmoud Hussein.

Names of the MBs arrested in Alexandria known till now:

1. Eng. Ibrahim Al-Sayed of the MB Administrative Bureau in Alexandria.
2. Mohamed Shehata of the MB Administrative Bureau in Alexandria.
3. Mohamed Zewail, businessman.
4. Dr. Tawakkol Masoud, MB candidate in 2005 Parliamentary elections.
5. Saeed Naguib.
6. Khairy Serag.
7. Ahmed Othman.
8. Alaa Ali Hassan.
9. Ahmed Awwad.
10. Saber Mahmoud.
11. Sha’ban Abdel-‘Al.
12. Mohamed Youness.

1. Hosni Omar, MB candidate in 2007 Shura council elections.

4. Yasser Abdel-Rafe’, manager of bureau of MP Zakariya El-Ganayny.
5. Mohamed Al-Safi.
6. Ahmed Zohair.
7. Fawzy Al-Deeb.
8. Hamed Badawi.
9. Adel Mohamed Makram.
10. Essam Abu Emma.
11. Al-Sayed Ghareeb.
